This privacy policy explains what personal information is collected when you visit caseypsychotherapy.ie or contact me through this website, how that information is used, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is the data controller?
[Name], trading as Casey Psychotherapy, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact me at [email address] with any privacy questions.
What information is collected, and why
When you fill in the contact form
The contact form on this site collects your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to arrange initial sessions.
The lawful basis for processing this information is your consent — you provide it voluntarily by completing the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing me.
Form submissions and Formspree
Form submissions are processed by Formspree, a third-party form-handling service. Formspree forwards your message to my email and stores a copy on its servers. Formspree is GDPR-compliant; you can read their privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Contact form submissions are retained for [retention period — e.g. 6 months] from the last contact, after which they are deleted from both my email and the Formspree dashboard, unless we have begun a therapeutic relationship in which case separate clinical record-keeping policies apply.
Website analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service. It does not use any cookies or persistent identifiers, does not collect IP addresses for tracking purposes, and does not build profiles of visitors. The data collected is limited to aggregate visit counts, referring pages, and basic device information — all used to understand which pages are useful to visitors. You can read more about Cloudflare's approach at cloudflare.com/web-analytics.
Cookies
This website does not use any cookies. No tracking, advertising, or personalisation cookies are set.
Who else has access to your information
Your information is not sold, shared, or transferred to any third party for marketing purposes. The only third parties that may process your information are:
- Formspree, for handling contact form submissions (see above)
- [Email provider — e.g. Google Workspace], where your email arrives
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and provides cookieless analytics
Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- request a copy of the personal information held about you
- request correction of inaccurate information
- request deletion of your information (the "right to be forgotten")
- object to processing of your information
- request restriction of processing
- request transfer of your information to another service
- withdraw consent at any time
- lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland
To exercise any of these rights, email me at [email address]. I will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Data Protection Commission of Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
Clinical records
The above policy concerns this website only. If you become a client, separate confidentiality and record-keeping policies apply to your clinical work. These will be discussed and agreed with you before any sessions begin.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Substantive changes will be communicated to current clients directly.
